WOMEN & CHILDRENS HOSPITAL - SPECIALITY TRANSPORT TEAMS

In addition to our regular air-medical staff, Mercy Flight also provides a transport option for both the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) and the Stabilization and Transport (STAT) teams at Children's Hospital of Buffalo. The ICN transport team serves infants up to one month of age and the STAT team serves children from one month old to approximately 16 years of age.

These specialty teams consist of a registered nurse and either a respiratory therapist or a physician from Children's Hospital, depending upon the patient's needs. Besides the clinical expertise that these specialists acquire through their full-time positions at Children's Hospital, they also receive the same aircraft safety and flight physiology training as the full-time Mercy Flight staff.
