In September of 2011, Mercy Flight Western New York celebrated our 30th Anniversary of providing emergent air medical services to those who live, work or play in Western New York. Since Douglas Baker brought his vision for air medical service to life in 1981, we have flown more than 19,000 patient missions and countless ground crew safety training and community awareness flights.
We are working on a book commemorating the first 30 years of Mercy Flight and would love to hear from those whose lives were touched by a flight on one of our helicopters over the years.
If you were a patient, family member or friend of a patient, a local first responder or a flight crew member with a story to share, please contact Samantha Ryan at 716-626-4100 x 308, send an e-mail to sryan@mercyflight.org or use the "Contact Us" link at the top of your screen.
